I saw Matthijs’s DWDD highlights dvd box collection in the library today, and then came across Zoolander. There seems to be some sort of connection. Maybe Matthijs also one day caught his reflection in a spoon while eating cereal and thought “wow, I’m ridiculously inquisitive looking, maybe I could do that for a career.”

Elections are coming up. Yesterday Annelies picked up leaflets from all parties in Utrecht. I read a couple and they all have some good ideas.
Not all of them, though. Like: “the car is one of the best inventions ever. Don’t let it be used as a cashcow. Vote VVD”
I don’t have a clue what to pick, being rightwinged on certain issues and leftwinged on others. I don’t want a strong leader who makes bad decisions, I also don’t want a mediocre leader making mediocre decisions. No candidates apply as of yet.
On a national level the some problems occur. Populism is king as always in politics. It’s most loyal servant is Wilders, but Wouter Bos is no better.
Popularity in politics is different than popularity elsewhere. Most of the time popular people have strong opinions, are good looking, smart, original or very aggressive. In politics you just have to go to Maurice the Dog and find out what the most people want and voila.
